Check both the supply and return heater hoses from engine to heater for blockage or clogging: remove them and flush. Also check the inlet and outlet pipes on the engine and heater core for gunk buildup and leakage.
After the engine warms up and the thermostat opens up, some of that heated antifreeze is directed through the heater coil. The MVAC fan blows air over it, and the heat transfers to that air, then it's directed through the ducts.
probably a clogged up heater core. The heater operates on the hot water provided by the cooling system. If the vehicle is running hot, it is apparitally low. You will need a full radiator to be able to supply the heater. Repair the leak, replace the thermostat and add new antifreeze.</P>
Can a bad heatercore cause antifreeze to come out overflow jug. And heat go off and on.
Most likely you have a slow antifreeze leak in your heater core which is being sucked onto the windshield.. You may also smell an antifreeze odor.
The heater valve may not be engaging or the heater core may be blocked.
There is supposed to be an engine thermostat . Do you mean that someone has removed the engine thermostat ? What year of Ford Ranger and what year ?
Does a 2004 Polaris Ranger use antifreeze?
Just the thermostat and the gasket.
The thermostat is done it has to be replaced.......
change thermostat
One of these things is the cause. Thermostat stuck open, replace it. Heater core stopped up, backflush the hearter core, and service the cooling system. Heater temperature control valve defective, replace it.
The 1992 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter had a 197 * Fahrenheit thermostat from the factory
