If the button activates the 4wd still, its just the light bulb, if it does not, the the button does not work, or, you may have a short.

Why would your 4WD and 4WD Low lights flash in 1996 explorer?

Well your 4WD might be going out, it probably wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.

Why are the 4wd dash lights blinking while driving and not using 4wd on 1998 ford explorer sport?

Typically it is because the connector inside the console that electronically switches the 4wd system on is not connected properly...This happened to me...I pulled it out and pushed it back in and the lights went off when in 2wd or Auto 4wd mode...

Your 1988 Bronco II will not go into 4 wheel drive It is a push button The lights on the buttons are not working?

Well is it actually engaging into 4WD? If so, then you do simply have a problem with the lights. However, if you don't notice the transfer case engage, you may have a problem with either the push button system or the transfer case itself.

What does it mean when none of the three buttons will light up and the four wheel drive does not work This started after having the tires balanced and rotors changed?

My guess is that a vacuum line was disturbed that engages or disengages the 4wd.

The trans makes a grinding noise when you shift from 2wd to N and 4wd low and wont shift back to 2wd on 95' 1500?

How do you shift into 4wd on a 96 Chevy Blazer?

well first you need to determine if it's actually 4wd. if it is there are 2 things: there might be 4x4 buttons on the dash or you may have a stick shifter to do that. whatever the case, 4wd high is the best one to use. now, how to get there - if you have 3 buttons that say 2HI, 4HI, or 4LO then just press the 4HI or 4LO button, whatever you prefer. almost the same with the shifter, but with the shifter you need to stop the blazer completely and shift from 2wd to the 4wd gear of your choice.

4wd wont engage on 99 ls blazer when you push 4wd buttons on dash they just blink off an on?

the electric servo and or the switch is bad.could be one or the other. A common problem if not used in some time.

How does the 4wd work on a 2001 ford explorer?

well,, you can start by turning the switch on your dash that says '4wd'

Does 4x4 help to stop?

No. 4wd helps with pulling traction. Brakes work exactly the same on a 4wd as a 2wd and the 4wd helps none at all in stopping.

How do you know you are in 4wd if you 4wd lights won't turn on?

Find some loose gravel, dirt, etc... that you won't get stuck in and stab the throttle to make the tires spin. Try it in 2WD first, then put it in 4WD. You'll pretty much know at that point.
