Many vehicles have a 'child safety lock' in the back seat that prevents young children from opening the doors. Check your owner's manual. Some have a physical latch to turn to disengage. Others have a menu setting in the electronics that can be programmed.
If they open from outside and not inside the child locks are probably on. open the door and look around the lock .
Open the door and look on the edge with the latch, there should be one large screw that holds the door handle to the door. Take the handle off and you should have access to the locks now.
You can find keyless door locks for domestic properties at Go Keyless online. They sell remote dead bolt locks, remote door knob and remote lever handle locks. They are available to fit any decor in your home.
Is the remote's battery dead?
To remove the door locks on a 1991 S10, the door panel has to be removed. There are bolts inside that hold the lock mechanism in place.
There is no "master" reset button for door locks. If they are not working, there is a problem either at: # The individual door lock actuator inside the door # A problem with the switche(s) - the main switch on the driver's door handle, or the switch on the individual door.
If the door won't open from the inside, then maybe it's due to the child safety locks. If it won't open from the outside, then maybe it's locked, or the door handle mechanism has broken, as it has on my 1998 Civic. From the inside, you might be able to remove the screw holding the handle and slide the handle set forward to remove it from the door.
How do door locks work?
