It is not uncommon for there to be some incidental loss of power steering fluid. I have added minor amounts of Power Steering fluid to my 2001 three times over the years. No more than a couple ounces at a time though.
If there's more loss than that, start examining the power steering hoses and connections for signs of leakage.
Check and see if your power steering fluid level is low.
Might be due to low/no fluid level in the power steering reservoir.
check the power steering fluid level. I would have to say your low on fluid.
Look at the level in the power steering reservoir...
check the power steering fluid level and the power steering belt
Have you checked your power steering fluid level..?
check power steering fluid level
Denise, the fluid goes in the power steering pump resovior at the same place you check the level. Make sure to check the level when the fluid is hot.
If it making a loud squealing sound when you turn the steering wheel, the power steering fluid level is low. The reddish fluid you are seeing on the ground is power steering fluid. It is probably leaking and that would be why the fluid level is so low.
Check the power steering fluid level. Low fluid is the most common cause. If the fluid is ok then the pump may need a rebuild or replacement.
Yes it does. Check your power steering fluid level.
