This is my attempt of answering the question, i hope that it helps. I'm currently learning about 'migration to England' at school so I'm not really sure if the reasons i have stated are completely correct.

The main reason why people migrate to England is due to the fact that England has the perception of a better quality and standard of living. The desire to relocate to Another Country is purely run from ideas that there will be better job opportunites hence total income may be more than it would have been in the country they are moving from. With income higher people often assume that they will experience a better quality of life as they assume that with the increase of money being achieved, they will be able to buy not only the nessecities but also extra items that may make them more happy.

Another reason why people decide to migrate to England is because England is a very diversly cultured place where any ethnicity is welcomed. People often assume that it is easier to work in an already develped country rather than be the process of the actually develpment. Often money earned in England is sent back to families and friends that are unable to travel and relocate to another country.

not only this people aslo migraste due to the famine, war, unelpoyment and also to eascape the realigious prosicution

Whilst the reasons why each individual immigrant decides to come to England may vary wildly, there are a common group of reasons:

  • Relatives already living in the country.
  • Better wages compared to home country.
  • Better job prospects.
  • Better welfare. By becoming a legal immigrant they are entitled to all the benefits the NHS provide.
  • Better quality of life.

England has some quite prominent immigrants (Cory Doctorow for example), who do not come from disadvantaged backgrounds but perhaps immigrate because the United Kingdom, and often specifically London, is often considered as one of the world's capitals in most trades as well as for culture. It also holds a prominent place in World Affairs, hosting some of the most famous media agencies in the world (BBC, Reuters, Guardian, Times, Telegraph, etc.) and being a core member of three of the most influential international alliances (The UN, The EU, and NATO). It is, of course, also the home of the English language, which makes England a more popular choice than other comparatively 'prestigious' countries such as France or Germany.

Given the relatively small size and high population density in the United Kingdom, Immigration is typically considered a problem by its inhabitants and is a constant high-level concern for politicians, as it has been instrumental in opinion polls and elections in recent times. This issue is compounded by the requirement of free passage to citizens of members countries of the EU, which makes it difficult for the government to monitor and control the level of immigration from these sources. As a result, immigration from outside the EU is usually particularly strict.

All sorts of reasons. It's a nice place to live in.

Most people move for one of the following reasons:

  • They have relatives or friends there already
  • Thay have a job to move to
  • They hope to be able to find a job there
  • They think that the benefit system may be good for them, even without employment.

At the moment many legal and illegal immigrants come into the latter category, from various parts of the EU.

In general movement through the EU is unrestricted so some people from poorer countries which have joined recently come to England seeking employment - often successfully.

People move out of England because the economy is failing, there is hardly any jobs and people think that they could have a better life in another country.
