The term "hanging chad" entered the dictionaries and Kathleen Harris had her 15 minutes of fame. Bush is also interesting because he is the son of president number 41.
The 9-11 terrorist attacks produced air-port security which still hassles air travelers. His response of invading Afghanistan to look for Osama bin Laden is still costing US lives and money. After that his idea of invading Iraq to look for WMD's is still costing us dearly and did not find any WMD's. However, his bold leadership and surprising debating skills plus his inate charm and sincerity won him a second term as president and this time he won the popular vote.
