This is regarded by the followers of Islam as akin to saying there are two gods although God is one. Islam is thus in this sense particularly a non-Christian religion since it does not recognize the deity of Jesus Christ, who, although highly regarded does not occupy the place of authority of either Muhammed or the Koran.
