Actually, China and Japan have lower production incl labor) costs and more efficient production strategies This combined with the fact that the laws for export from China into other countries (like the US) are less strict give them a slight advantage to produce and export goods. It's also to their advantage that schooling (prior to 1985) was totally paid for by the government, so until then (around 1985), you could go to college for free.

Japan is the world's leader in Technology for many reasons.

It has a high standard of living, it's a good place to do business.

Japan's average IQ is (along with China) is the highest in the world.

And for the past 50 Years Japan has been the uncontested leader of Consumer Electronics, so it controls the market.

But it is not the leader across all markets.

Germany is the worlds leader in Manufacturing Technology.

The United States is the world's leader in the development of Military Technology.

All across Europe, USA, Canada, China technology has the potential to be equal but some countries fund more into the market than others.

Because basically they took all the manufacturing jobs from the US and because they pay so little for labor other countries could not compete with prices. Another reason the US got too greedy with taxing and regulations. To top that off greedy unions kept asking for more backed by politicians who get funded by these unions forcing companies to move to Union states. The IS companies got fed up, packed up and left. Look for big companies like monsanto behind harrasment of smaller companies including farming. About the only jobs politicians can make are gov jobs and infrastructure that are dependendent on taxes not real independent jobs. This will result in more taxes. These is no regulation protecting jobs or so called free trade which benefits China not the US.

Those foreign people living in China, from their observation and experience it can be said that the determination, hard working, technology and the rapid implementation of government order are the key factors for advanced China. The last and major key is the giving importance to the economy and business.
