An autoimmune disease is one in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the host which it is protecting.
In Multiple Sclerosis, the immune system attacks and destroys the myelin sheath surrounding nerve fibers, leaving behind hard plaques or scars (called scleroses, thus "multiple sclerosis" meaning "many scars").
research has shown that several autoimmune diseases, including MS, share a common genetic link. In other words, patients with MS might share common genes with family members that have other autoimmune diseases
No. It is an autoimmune disease. The body's defenses are attacking the body instead of what is considered to be foreign. A variety of viruses have been linked to MS, including Epstein-Barr, the virus that causes infectious mononucleosis but the link is not been proven. A spirochete is not a virus but a type of bacteria.

There isn't one for rare or orphan diseases per se. When it comes to autoimmune diseases, there are various ribbons for a variety of autoimmune illness/disorders. There is not an "umbrella" ribbon but individual ribbon for, for ex., autoimmune hepatitis, crohns disease, MS, etc. There are "catch all"-ribbons available, however none of these are specifically for orphan disease or the umbrella diagnosis of autoimmune disorder.
mctd and ms patients autoimmune disorders im intoo much pain for this and i cant see very well right now
There are many conditions that can be considered an autoimmune disorder. In fact there are about 80 known autoimmune disorders. They include rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, celiac disease, reactive arthritis, Addison's disease, Type I diabetes, lupus, Kawasaki's disease, and vasculitis.
CCSVI is not MS cure, but, best case scenario, a revolution on MS's pathogenesis. MS is still mostly considered an autoimmune disease. CCSVI is modifying this belief, answering to the basic question of the why: what trigger made my immune system work against my body? Classic explanation was (and still is) that IS isn't working correctly, and drugs in use act on IS (with low effectiveness indeed). CCSVI could be the trigger, cause the exhausted blood trapped for too long in the brain area by the narrowing of the veins at the base of the cranium cause the inflammation that generate the IS attack.
Typically, it is a masters of science (MS) degree.
RA, considered an autoimmune disorder, is often connected with food allergies/intolerances.
No, it's OS.
