∙ 12y agoThe Treaty of Tordesillas, divided he Spain and Portugal's territories in South America. Spain, got the western half and Portugal got the eastern half. Although, Portugal only owned one country that is Brazil. Although, Brazil is the largest country in South America. Consequently, Brazilians speak the Portuguese language. All of the others speak Spanish.
