"because it can load or carry up to a half ton of equipment"
This is a common misconception. For clarification Nissan rated the payload of it's 2006 Nissan Titan XE 2WD as 1587 Lbs. but the Titan is considered a "half-ton" pickup. The 1/2 ton. 3/4 ton, and 1 ton ratings are outdated references to trucks of previous generations and are now nothing more than a reference.
Pick-up trucks are rated by how much they can haul. A half-ton truck can safely haul 1000 pounds. ......That is incorrect I drive a Half ton that has a 10,500 tow capacity.... -It's correct, it doesn't relate to tow capacity, it relates to what you can carry in the bed, or otherwise cargo.
a half ton pick ford f150 can do it buy i recomend you go for a 3/4 ton pick just to be safe
No, you can not find a half-ton, V6 diesel. There are none currently on the market, at least none that are factory made. 2014 will be the first production year a half-ton pick-up truck will be factory fitted with a V6 diesel engine. Chrysler will introduce the new Dodge Ram 1500 with a half-ton, V6 diesel engine in the third quarter of 2013.
a half ton
A 1 ton truck will have the largest hauling capacity, but the half-ton truck will haul a lot and is easier on gas. The ton and half- ton refer to how much you can haul including passengers. The Dodge Ram has both the 1 ton and half-ton truck which would easily do the job.
A half ton.
Depends on the make, model, year, engine, & transmission installed in the half ton truck. It varies greatly. Need more information to provide an answer.
1/4 ton
No. A S10 series truck is considered a quarter ton truck.
That's a half-ton pickup, so 1,000 pounds in the bed of the truck.
