The point is a "wedge" that separates the wood fibers as the nail enters, making it easier to drive into the wood without tearing the wood as a flat tipped nail would.
When you use it to pull out a nail, the curved part becomes the fulcrum and the part on the back that you use to pull out the nail and the end you would use to pound the nail in are the two ends of the lever.
This wrench is specifically used to put scaffolding together. One end is pointed so it will fit easily into some parts to be used as a lever.
one end is pointed so that way it goes through the wood and the other end is flat because that way the hammer can hit it too go into the wood or what ever else your putting it into. that is why :P ~ Makayla Wright <3
If you are referring to the type of wrench that usually has an open end to tighten the bolt or nut and a point on the other end...the point is called a "drift pin" and is used to line up the hole that the bolt is going into. That style of wrench is called a "drift pin wrench".
a nail designed to penetrate concrete and hold
It makes it easier to drive the nail into wood.
The ends of nails always made pointed because it help the nail to enter an object easy and faster.
a thin pointed piece of metal is called a spike
nail
the tip of a nail is kept pointed by keeping in mind the principle that pressure is inversely proportionate to the area in contact. The pointed tip covers a less area, further creating a situation of more pressure, so that we could easily pierce it through the wall.

a nail is sharp because the sharper the nail is, the thinner the tip is, which in turn can more easily get in between the molecules of the wood, so you can then push/smash your way into the wood, and as the width of the nail gets wider, it pushes apart the molecules, in turn, clearing the path for the nail to get through. PS. this is just common sense.
Pointed Sticks ended in 1981.
If you cannot have a groomer clip your dogs nails and need to do it yourself, just take the very pointed tip off to make a blunt end.
If the bent nail is used to fix a plain wire or strand of barbed wire to a fence post, and the bent nail is pointed on both ends, then it is a staple.
For a baby nail file, look for a small size and for a smoother surface than a regular file. There is a package that can be found at Target for around $20 that contains some of them. Make sure they do not have a pointed tip at the end as this could be harmful for the baby.
So when you go to hammer it in the wood it goes in properly, if it had a blunt end it wouldn't ease in as well. Hope this helps :)
