You could say that but no one can guarantees safety, it all depends on what you do. If you are downloading or watching stuff that may give it a 'virus' then I recommend a antivirus program. Even if its free e.g Bitdefender antivirus is a free app from the App Store. However to answer your question in one sentence, yes, an iMac or MacBook is less vulnerable than the average windows computer.
BUT Some windows computers have built in antivirus.

∙ 12y agoI had windows computers since windows 95. After I got my windows 7, I am defenetly changing to mac. So many errors. I try put to put another browser and internet explorer gives me some trouble. I was playing unreal tournament 3 and after I had a half of the game, then comes another errror. The game asked the key again. Now the safer part.
windows always sells the product and two week laters a hole is discovered. A patch is made. If you are lucky some bad malware did not infected your PC until the update is made.
I encountered some much trouble, I could write a book about it.

∙ 13y agoModern Mac OSs are based on Linux. Linux is not prone to virus attack because executable files cannot affect other files unless they can get permission. If you were to change ownership of all of your system files and run as administrator you might get a virus that could damage your system but, since that is unlikely, nobody has bothered to write code that will exploit that situation.

Apple laptop computers are compatible with gaming software. There are many many more titles of games available for Windows computers though. Apple computers do get a lot of games but some of them come out later for Mac than Windows. Also, the more cutting edge games are more well suited to be ran on a Windows computer.

Why do apple computers and personal computers not agree?
Apple Computers are in fact personal computers, but the "PC" moniker typically is applied to Windows computers. Historically Apple computers used different processor architectures than Windows computers, but now a days an Apple computer, running Mac OS, and a PC, running Windows OS, are identical in terms of hardware they just run different software. The difference in software is the primary reason why the computers "do not agree". The different OSes have very different User Interfaces and get followings of people who are more dedicated to one interface or the other. It is all a matter of opinion, but Dell computers are significantly less expensive than Apple computers. I suggest going to your local BestBuy and checking them out for yourself. The above answer is correct, it is a matter of opinion. I have owned them both and now own nothing but Apple. Dell makes cheap computers and they also make excellent computers that are just as expensive as an Apple. But either way you will get the Windows OS and that is the problem. Apple computers run on the OSx operating system. Apple makes excellent computers built with quality parts and there are no cheap Apple computers. Apple also makes all the software that comes on that Apple computer unlike Windows which makes very little software. Apple software works flawlessly with OSx. Apple computer also do not need security software no matter what Windows users tell you. Been using my iMac for 5 years with not one infection. There has never been a real world virus to infect OSx. OSx also does not have a registry which is a big plus. Apple computers are IMO, easier to use than a Windows PC.

In the business world, it is standard to own computers that run the Windows OS because they are more catering to different programs that businessmen would use. Apple computers are known more for their school and art-related profession following. If the company were to be something with the arts, that would be the reason to buy Apple Compouters over a PC.

This answer is all based on anecdotal evidence. May I add that Apple builds no cheap computers and Apple actually builds it. Unlike Windows who only build software. If you compare an Apple computer with a similar Windows computer of the same quality there is very little difference in price. A Mac is also faster, easier to use, requires no security software, that will slow it down and holds it's value. Remember the old adage, you get what you pay for. Apple computers are not perfect but they have far less problems than Windows computers.

Yes, I think they are. If your a non geek then it's even easier. Apple has a minimalistic OS, as it were. The Mac OS was made to be easy to work with and find stuff on. Altough Windows 7 and above are moving in that direction. One thing Windows has going for it (for geeks anyway) I think is you can do more fiddling and trimming the OS then you can with the Mac.

I would say that mac's are better than PC's because they have an easlier, better, and faster computer and interface. As the days pass on Apple's computers become better and better, but Microsoft is losing 80 BILLION dollars to apple. The only downside to Apple is that it's more on the expensive side, but when you think about it your paying for the premium service, so I say it's worth the price. It depends who is behind the computer.
