All large military operations are given code names, and all of them have a D-Day, but the Normandy invasion was the most famous and over the years June 6, 1944 has come to be known as D-Day. The invasion of French North Africa was Operation Torch, and the invasion of Sicily was Operation Husky, etc., and they had a D-Day too.
