when your engine is hot it causes the water to boil and the water and the anti freeze will come out of the overflow pipe.
This is to allow for expansion of the hot water-- otherwise the cylinder would blow up.
Rust popped off inside the pipe and plugged the faucet.
Hot water pipe rust first as compared to the cold water pipe for the same chemical composition of the water.
This type of question refers to the gravity type fed hot water heater and the correct level is just below the overflow pipe, however it is personal preference.
I take it you are talking about the large (header) tank in your loft which feeds your hot water cylinder. If so its the ball valve leaking and needs a washer replacing. hope this helps. Gaz
Check the overflow pipes and pans to be certain that they are not clogged.
Cold water pipe.
Either this is a plumbing mistake or the cold water has been switched off and the hot water heater is draining. If no cold line valve has been turned off. It may indicate a burst pipe.
means you are running out of hot water
That's just how long it takes to get the water that is sitting in the pipe out. Unless you have a circulating pump on the line so that there is always hot water at the faucet, it always takes a bit of time for the water to get hot. The hot water is in the tank, not the pipe connecting it to the faucet. There is nothing in the pipe to keep the water hot.
