I will mention 5 main groups where males are routinely circumcised:

The Jews circumcise their baby boys at 8 days of age, as an expression of the Alliance or Covenant with God. Liberal Muslims are slowly starting to practice the Brit Shalom instead of the Brit Milah, celebrating birth without circumcision. Orthodox Jews remain strong in circumcision.

The Muslims. While not mentioned in the Qur'an, it's mentioned in other texts and consider important for cleanliness.

In Philippines - I don't understand why really.

Africa: different tribes have created different coming of age rituals around circumcision. Basically it marks the pass from being a child to being a man.

United States: non-religious circumcision in the United States started in the late XIX Century as a way to prevent kids from masturbating. Masturbation was believed to cause tuberculosis, epilepsy, blindness and many other diseases. During the World War II, the army promoted circumcision as prevention of syphilis and other STDs, forcing soldiers to undergo the treatment. After this, the culture was conditioned to believe that circumcision is cleaner and that the boys should look like their dad. Today the practice of routine circumcision in the U.S. is declining to around 33% of born males.

In most places of Europa, South and Central America, circumcision is not prevalent.

Many intactivists believe that routine circumcision of babies is a violation of human rights and compare it to female circumcision, or Female Genital Mutilation FGM. They argument that babies have the right to an integral, unmodified body, and that the benefits are too bogus compared to the risks. In the U.S. it is estimated that 1 in every 25,000 circumcised babies dies as a consequence of the procedure, either from blood loss, infections, reactions to anesthesia or cardiac arrest.

No. Paul's Epistles in the New Testament discuss the question of whether or not Christians need to be circumcised, and he says that they don't.
