Restricted diets can cause Allergies...when improving your diet, instead of thinking of "restricting" your diet, "expand" your diet. For example, instead of just abstaining from meat, increase the variety of your fruit and vegetable intake. Eat different types of beans and protein foods. Try grain alternatives instead of eating say, wheat all the time. A variety of foods will help ensure you get all the nutrients you need and help you to avoid autoimmune illnesses.

Every animal has different nutritional needs, and there is rarely one "perfect" food that contains them all. (The only exception might be koalas and eucalyptus, or whales and krill.) Most species need a variety of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates that are found in different foods. Eating the same thing all the time can cause deficiencies, malnourishment, and death.
