Why is it in storage battery the energy that can be extracted from it is always less than the energy that goes in to it when it is being charged?

There is always a phenomena called Efficiency when doing work. There is no process known as on date which does not have loss due to this. So while charging and while using also there is loss . You can never recover full input that has gone in to the process
