You might want to check the power supply and the CPU cooling system including the fan, radiator and thermo paste (the most possible). If the paste is dry or not flexible any more you have to change it (you can buy it in Radioshack network).
it's computer is at zero miles to service, you can take it to a dealership to reset it or if you look in the manual it will tell you how. Usually it is holding down both the select and set button at the seame time for about ten seconds.
Hello, whenever I turn my computer on after a short while of loading up (before Windows loads up), it beeps. What do these beeps mean? 1-3-6-14? My computer is a Dell XPS M1730 with a duo NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT and 8GB ram. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Gr97XrfSJB

I've heard you have to knock out the computer system.
when the computer first turn on it run POST (power on self test) if it succeeds then you get a 1 beep. if not then there might be a mobo failure or count how many beeps there are and check the manual.

You can turn on your monitor's speakers by inserting the audio jack into its audio-in port. If no audio is heard, ensure your computer's system volume is turned up.
i had the same problem. turn your climate control to full cold and u will not listen any beeps. the reason is, fan speed resistors are blown on full hot setting of climate control. the rest is all the best with the beeps
When you turn your computer on, it runs a self-diaganostic to make sure everything is working properly. This is called the Power On Self Test, also known as POST. When POST detects an error, it emits a series of beeps. These are called beep codes. Your 4 beeps is a beep code because something is wrong with your computer. If you still have your motherboard manual, look under beep codes and look for 4 beeps, and it will tell you what is wrong. If you don't have your manual anymore, you have to search on google for beep codes for your specific motherboard. Every computer has a different set of beep codes, so you have to find your specific ones to find out what is wrong. -Jesse
