Timing belt
The catalytic converter should last forever if the car is properly maintained.
There are usually about 3 grams of platinum in a catalytic converter. There are 31.1 grams in an ounce. Platinum is at $2000/ounce so you can figure right at $200 worth. Please note manufacturers are starting to use other materials so you may have very little, if any, platinum. There are 28 grams per ounce not 31.1.
Back of engine. One is in exhaust manifold, the other is screwed on behind hte catalytic converter.
How are you verifing the engine temp? I would suspect one of 2 things. possibly it is not overheating, the temp sensor is causing faulty gauge readings, in which case change the sensor. If it is overheating check to be sure the exhaust sytem is not blocked, possibly bad catalytic converter.
Bank # 2 is the drivers side of your V6 engine Sensor # 1 is before the catalytic converter
This indicates that your left pre-catalytic converter Oxygen sensor is bad. P1131 and P1113 are pre-cat sensors, Bank 1 & Bank 2 sensor 1. Please refer to the diagram in the link below. http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2770872.phtml They are anywhere from $70-200+ dollars and should be changed in pairs.

The purpose of the catalytic converter is to change any unburned hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water. As engines become less efficient unburned hydrocarbons and often even raw fuel can be sent out the exhaust.Once unburned hydrocarbons get to the catalytic converter they are oxidized, resulting in the release of quite a bit of heat.If your catalytic converter is running that hot, you SERIOUSLY need a tune-up and possibly other engine work. The appropriate repairs will help your fuel economy and give you better performance. My name is Michael and I have a 1991 Cadillac Eldorado, 8 cyl. I had a mechanic from work look at my car. He noticed my catalytic converter turning red, so he said, that was my problem. So I towed my car to Meineke, and they put in a brand new converter. It still turned red. So I towed it back to my home and had new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, new pcv valve, new throttle sensor, and replaced both 02 oxygen sensors, front and back. The Catalytic Converter, is still turning red. I saw someone say, it could be the EGR valve, online. So that is what i am going to do next payday, replace that. If anyone, knows what the real problem is, let me know. I keep doing the things i see online here, but so far, the converter is still turning red. I have also paid for 2 dignostic test to find out, and because the test are by reading the information after i hold the OFF and WARMER BUTTON down. I still do not see what the main problem is. Someone please help me find out what is my problem, Thanks
The main symptom is a complete lack of power. By lack of power i mean holding the gas pedal to the floor and only going 15 miles per hour. The car will idle well but no power hardly at all. Another symptom is rattling. If you strike the bottom of the Catalytic Converter wil a rubber hammer you will hear rattling from inside the converter. That indicates that the honeycomb matrix inside the coverter has broken apart. Finally, if you ignore the loss of power (it gets progressivly worse) eventually the car will not even start. Please keep in mind that the converter does not instantly go from good to plugged. It takes time. Mostly you notice the power loss on top speed first. For example only being able to go 50 m.p.h. . Then later on only 40...Again, the power loss gradually gets worse. If you really think the converter is plugged then you can disconnect the exhaust in front of the converter and see if the power returns. Also please keep in mind that some cars have "pre-cats" or "mini-oxidation" converters. Thay are a small catalytic Converter in front of the main converter. They go bad as well. Matter of fact, the last car i had with a bad "cat" it was one of those pre-cats. It was on a Toyota. One last thing...Mercedes Benz has a recall on the Converters on some models. You can get it replaced fo free. (normally $800) About a year ago i had a Mercedes come in with a top speed of 5 MPH. I removed the cat and the guts of the converter poured out like coffee grounds. Free replacement from the dealer Some cars have up to 4 cats so keep that in mind also. best of luck ^_^
