The air door under the Blazers dash could be stuck, or there could be a vacuum leak on the engine. The door opens and closes from vacuum, directing the air from heat to defrost.
More than likely the vacuum feed line from the engine has been disconnected or cracked. When there is no vacuum supplied to the HVAC it reverts back to the defualt position, the defroster.
Check the vacuum supply from the engine. If it is disconnected or cracked the system will default to defrost only.
rub it
If it's stuck in defrost your battery died and messed up the computer. Disconnect battery for 5 or more min. My 96 cooled and heated ok but was stuck in defrost
thermostat is stuck open.
What causes heat to only come out of the defrost and vent but not the floor of a 1995 S10 Blazer?
take it to get fix
most likely the cable is stuck, try oiling it, if all else fails buy a new one
The default for heaters is to go to defrost if there is a problem in the system. You will have to get under the dash to find the problem. Probably best to take it in as they can get tricky without diagrams depending on the system
If it's stuck in defrost your battery died and messed up the computer. Disconnect battery for 5 or more min. Reconnect and it should ok then.
Your air mix door is stuck or broken.
The most common cause for the defrost not properly working is a malfunctioning blending door. The blending door might be stuck halfway open. This would cause the defrost not to work unless the fan is on high.
