because it's broken!
it is only the drivers side wiper that is having the problem it works randomly but does not go all the way across the windshiled when it does work. The passenger side windshield wiper works fine.
If the passenger wiper works, either the drivers side wiper arm or the windshield wiper transmission is defective. The linkages that work the wiper arms is called a transmission.
you need to get a new windshield wiper. mine quit working and i did that now it works good as new
The nut holding the wiper arm to the wiper transmission is loose. Shut the wipers off, move drivers side wiper where it should be in the off position and tighten nut. There may be a plastic cover over the nut that you must remove to gain access.
The wiper linkage is bad. Or the wiper arm stud bushings (where the arms attach to the cowl) are rotted out.
the nut that holds the wiper arm on came loose. just needs tightened.
First check the nut at the bottom of the wiper arm to seee if it's loose. If tight, fault is in wiper likage to wiper arm not working
That only works for the front wipers, I'm trying to figure out the rear wiper blade...sorry, but at least I READ your question.
Take it by auto zone, they will replace it for you.. this works best for me, im in and out in 15mins.
The wipers are linked together by a bar that attaches to the wiper motor. They attach with a small ball joint assembly. if you remove the black vent intakes at the base of your windshield you will see the assembly. Should be a matter of just reattaching the connector.
NORMALLY THE WIPER ARM SHOULD POP OFF YOU MAY HAVE SPRAY LUBERCIANT ON THE ARM WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE WIPER MOTOR BECAUSE OF THE DIRT AND GREASE IT ACCUMULATES OVER THE YEARS - Ideally all windshield wipers are removed the same way. Look around for a tutorial video to find the technique and if it works for you, try it on your mustang. -
Sound to me like your wiper motor is out. The water pump is totally separate from the wiper motor. Good Luck!!!
