∙ 7y agoGay marriage is becoming more popular because today's world is so diverse and more people are open and honest about personal characteristics that may be controversial such as Atheism and homosexuality. As the gay community grows, more homosexuals feel comfortable about their sexuality and are less afraid to express it. As are less straight people scared to express their support. Now, if we could only get close-minded conservative/fundamentalists to understand this...

So, the question begs, do you feel The Bible is not diverse enough to comply with the way the world is going which is in favor of same sex marriages? Shouldn't it be the other way around where we should all look to comply with the morals of the bible? Just a thought. Oh, one final word of note is that "God intended marriage to be a permanent and an intimate bond between a man and a woman. Men and women are designed to complement each other so they may be capable of satisfying each other's emotional, spiritual, and sexual needs and desires."

∙ 16y agoPeople who for religious or other reasons find non-heterosexual marriage to be abhorrent are opposed to 'gay marriage'. This group of people also tend to be very vocal, and very political. Plus, it takes a certain amount of political courage to stand in FAVOR of gay marriage, so many politicians either brush aside the issue, or make their stand rather wishy-washy. Many people, however, believe that 'gay marriage' is a choice that is personal, private and does not belong in the public forum. What other people do in the privacy of their own home should be of no concern to others. Many people support gay marriage simply because it gives gay couples the same economic and legal rights as 'non-gay' married couples. The bottom line is, as with many other 'sexual' topics, it's a hot button to the religious right and the liberal left.

∙ 12y agoBecause it gives same sex couples the same rights of other couples. If a man in a gay relationship was in the hospital had been hurt his gay partner can not see him in some circumstances. Also when filing for taxes. It's saves alot of money when filing that you are in a domestic relationship. Most people try to use religion saying it is a religious thing. Though there is a separation of religion and state. So religion preference should have no say in the equal rights of citizens
