Red Heelers are a herding dog. This means that some of their natural behaviors could b deemed undesirable. For example barking, chewing, chasing, digging, defending territory, and nipping heels.
However, with the proper training, they can become a great pet. They are excellent watchdogs and protect the people they love. However, they do need room to run. They will get into mischief without accessible space.
They are in fact the same breed--just different names. You may also hear them called a blue heeler or red heeler depending on their color.
Australian Cattle Dog, Queensland heeler, red Heeler, Blue heeler,
one is a purebred dog and the other is a mixed breed dog.
Australian Cattle Dogs can also be called Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler (dogs showing the 'bluish'gray and black coloring), and Red Heeler (reddish colored dogs.) Stumpy tailed versions are sometimes referred to as Smithfield Cattle dogs, but in fact the Smithfield heeler is another breed again, with a different shaped body.
A red heeler is a medium sized dog with orange/red markings/spots all over its body. they can be aggressive and are very good watch dogs. if you see one in public DO NOT PAT IT the chances of it biting you are about 7 out of 10 so DONT PAT IT!
Pitbulls are an aggressive breed of dog and should be outlawed.
Looks like an Australian heeler cross breed
I have a beegle bird Dog which is not an officle dog breed, but i also have a Texas Heeler(Austrsailian shepard, blue heeler mix). HE is regognized by the a AKC as an officail dog breedIf
Yes. It is just two names for the same breed of dog. The Blue Heeler/Queensland Heeler is also known as the Australian Cattle Dog.
It would be any breed of dog mixed with an Australian cattle dog, which are also known as heelers.
A labrador blue heeler mix is exactly that-a mixed breed dog (or mutt) and that's generally what they're called.
There are a couple of breeds of sheep dogs commonly used in Australia. The Australian kelpie is a good dog for herding and guarding sheep. The border collie also herds sheep and is an excellent "eye" dog - that is, it controls the sheep by using its eyes to almost hypnotise or " set " the sheep to move in particular directions.
