1. The dense tree cover in a forest shades the ground so that grass cannot get enough light to grow.

2. Large established trees compete very well with small grasses for available nutrients and moisture in the soil. In an open space, grass has the advantage, because it grows quickly when there is a lot of light available, and grass therefore takes the available nutrients and moisture, making it difficult for trees to establish.

3. the understorey of plants in the forest also compete with grasses for light and nutrients.

The undergrowth can be sparse because it is blocked by all of the other leaves at higher points on the trees. This means that the undergrowth does not get as much sunlight as the rest of the parts of the rain forest.

Because often there is too little moisture, it's generally too windy, and the climate is too warm (shorter winters and longer summers) than what a conifer is generally used to up in the boreal forest.

In some places there is not enough wtaer and the climate is too harsh. Also, the trees do not lose their needles so there isn't enough light for underbrush to grow.

When you enter the forest, you have to go north towards the trainers and the little bridge thing. If you go far enough, you'll see an entrance in a gate to your right. If you go through this, then there will be double battle grass right there.

You have to see grass and then go in the grass and battle. It is usually Elekid for me but try to get a Pokemon in White Forest. If there is no grass then you can't catch Elekid and other Pokemon so just try to get grass. :)
