It could possibly be the control module in the distributer. If there is a steady voltage on the secondary, the coil is good.A firing pulse is controlled by the electronic module inside the distributer.
Coil?Computer?
It is located internally inside the Distributor
Loosen the four bolts that hold the ignition coils to the valve cover gaset. Then pull each coil out and the spark plug wire attached to it. Pull each wire off each coil and replace with new. Reinstall coils and wires. Reinstall ignition coil bolts.
Suspect a bad coil or failed engine computer.
Check the coil, as that is where the spark comes from.
depending on the engine code(in the vin)mine is a g code 2.4 and its built into the distributor
The coil is bad or the ignitions system is grounding out somewhere.
ignition coil is mounted inside the distributor ,underneath the rotor. BE CAREFULL, the ignition coil to 1994 galant is expensive .study it before just yanking out screws. It has a sensor plate inside and when you undo the screws in haste it comes apart and that controls the computer make break signal to tell were #1 is. Sooooooo, you then get to spend a lot of time figuring out how it goes back together. And guess what nobody but the Japaneese factory knows and now i do.,because i did this accidently. GOOD LUCK!
on the 2.4 engine #1 cylinder is the first one on right side of car, passanger side first spark plug is cylinder #1,next you'll see a coil .under coil is plug #2. then plug #3 then another coil under it is plug# 4
Chilton's repair manual (about $20.00) has all the wiring diagrams for your entire car.
Coil?
Either the coil is bad or the ignition control module is bad.I would think the coil is faulty.
