I suspect that you mean the sparkplug wires? Sounds like you just need a new set of wires since the insulation does deteriorate over time. --Ken
If getting no spark, it could be your spark plug wire is bad or your coil pack. say 3 and 6 getting no sparks, that means your coil pack is bad and you need to replace. if you getting no sparks after replacing new coil pack, it could be your ignition module.
Replace the ECU.
The coil
it does have one it has a coil on plug system or my even have a coil pack with the ignistion wire coming from it
look for the small braded wire coming out of the fusebox under the hood and that is the resistor wire.
To wire the coil in a Mercury Bobcat: The + terminal goes to the "run" prong on the ignition switch. The - terminal goes to the points and condenser. The middle terminal (the one with the fat wire coming out of it) goes to the center post on the distributor. This is how you wire the coil in any car that has points and condenser. The Bobcats that are little construction machines have diesel engines in them, so there's no coil at all.
The coil is inside the distributor. There is no coil wire. The coil is inside the distributor. There is no coil wire.
yes coil is a type of wire
hook your green wire from the tach to the white wire from the coil PAC it should be a white and a yellow wire coming from the coil. the tach should have a white wire that will be your light inside the tach a red wire for power and a black for ground.. good luck
It's the wire coming from the negative side of the coil.
First you need to test the leads going to the coil to make sure you have juice. If that is ok. before you go and buy a new coil, find a coil wire or a spark plug wire and test it to see if it sparks, if no spark it is probably your coil. There are ways to test the coil indepth with a multi meter, I have never tried it only read about it in a few of my haynes/chilton's manuals.
The coil wire.
