The evaporator case drain that passes thru the firewall has lost it's seal. There was a technical bulletin about this within Dodge, not a recall type thing. There also is alot of discussion on the different Dakota forums about the problem and suggested fixes.
The best (the one that worked on my 2002 Dak) was to fit a 3/4" copper street L Plumbing fitting into the original plastic drain tube with epoxy to hold it. I did it from under the vehicle (truck on it's wheels no jack/ramps needed. I had to remove the heat shield covering the drain tube to get the fitting in, then had to tweak the ear on the shield that covers the drain tube when you put the shield back on. worked for me!
The heater blower motor is on the interior passenger side. It is kind of a round shaped housing facing the floor.
It is your a/c condencer ot should be draining out of the truck. the rubber line is more that likely clogged.
It's a Dodge thats why.
there are two of them.one is in the center on the floor up against the firewall, and the other in in the dash on the passenger side. The dash has to be taken out to gain access to the second one.
this could be from the heater core. When the heater core goes out it leaks....right into the passenger side floor board If it is water, not coolant, the problem could be a plugged air conditioner drain. Easily accesible from under the hood.
Passenger side floor board. Open passenger door, look up and foward towards firewall. There are 2 screws holding it in the blower box. It has a 1X3 5 pin connector.
Water in the floor of your Dakota can mean two things. Your heater core is leaking in which case you need to keep check of the radiator fluid because your truck will overheat from lose of fluid or the drain hose that leaks condenced water to the outside when you run the A/C has come lose or is clogged
If your talking about 2005 Dakota floor mats then yes! Correction: This is not correct. The 2005 Dodge Dakota was built on a new chassis. The floor pan on the vehicle is different from the 2004 model. If you have custom fit mats for the 2004, they will not correctly fit the 2005 Dodge Durango. All the major floor mat manufacturers including Nifty Catch-All, Husky Liner, WeatherTech, Avery's Mats, Lloyds Mat and Highland have different part numbers for the 2005 Dodge Durango versus the 2004 Dodge Durango
The Battery is located in the Floor board between the driver and passenger seats, you will have to remove the rubber floor to access it. Special tools you may need are on the passenger side in the floor, where the jack is.
