If it only occurs when you press the accelerator pedal and the engine is running well otherwise, the valve stem seals have probably failed. Replacing the stem seals involves removing the head, and while you're there, you may as well have the machine shop perform a full valve job, since failed stem seals are usually caused by failed valve guides.

On the other hand, if the engine tends to feel that it's "loading up", (too much fuel) it could be a condition called "wash down", in which the excess fuel picks up some of the oil that is on the cylinder walls and when the oil burns it turns blue. If the engine is running well, that's probably not your problem.
