Wheat is a very important grain, as it is one of world's leading crops, up there with rice, corn, etc. Wheat is a grain that can be used to created bread (we all know that) but it is full of carbohydrates, our bodies lead source of energy, after we run out of carbohydrates, our bodies switch over to another source of fuel, like protein for example. Excess carbohydrates that aren't used are stored as fats, which our bodies can use later.

So that's why wheat is important. a little lengthy i admit but wheat is a very important crop, it is a great export, and can affect the economy.
