I have a 1985 190e 2.3, it does the same thing. It's currently sitting in my front yard because it leaked out all of its gas. I've spent a lot of time on the internet wanting this exact same question answered, and all of the answers I ever got was to replace the fuel pump. I think mine sucked up some rust from my tank that was residual or something. My pump screams whenever I turn the key just as little bit, I don't know if you notice yours doing that or anything, I would definitely check that out, I ordered a new pump and I'm waiting to see if it is the answer to all of my problems.

I could be something as simple as a vacuum line off. I had overheating issues on my 1991 190E and found a vacuum check valve broken. Look near the passenger side of the engine.
