Why is your Samsung Galaxy Ace gt-s5839i stuck on 'connecting' whenever you connect to Kies on your iMac?

You could check to see if you have the latest version of the Mac OS. You can also check to see if you have the latest version of Kies. I would also download the Android File Transfer USB software (if you haven't done so already), and in your Galaxy Ace's settings turn on USB Debugging Mode thru Settings > Applications > Development. Debugging will only be turned on automatically when plugged in to your Mac. If this still doesn't work, while disconnected from the Mac, go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > USB Utilities, then click on the button saying Connect storage to PC. It should say something like "connect USB cable to use mass storage", connect the USB cable to your Galaxy Ace. Hopefully that should do it.
