bad alternator, bad voltage regulator, bad battery, bad connections.
If it is running on the battery only then that means the alternator is not charging the battery.
bad alternator ? its not charging the battery
As long as the alternator works and your charging system is correct, the new battery will start your truck and keep it running.
You probably have a bad alternator. Need to check the charging system.
When the truck is idling at low RPM, the charge supplied by alternator is not sufficient to run truck and charge battery of reverse polarity. Alternator expends majority of amperage toward charging (which never takes) and increase in RPM is required to spin alternator fast enough to accomodate ignition system and charging system in unison. The most common reason for a vehicle not to turn over is a bad alternator. If the alternator is not charging the battery the engine will not start, regardless of the battery age.
The alternator light circuit is different from the charging part. The charging part goes to the battery, while the light part goes to the instrument panel. There seems to be a grounded wire in the light circuit.
Your alternator is not recharging the battery and is defective.
Well it maybe that the battery is to small for the truck or the alternator is bad
the truck is a peice of crap that's whats wrong wit it LAYMEN: your battery might be bad put it on the charger for a couple hours you can go to walmart and they check your alternator battery and charging system for free and takes about 10 min
There are no relays that have any affect on the truck starting. If for some reason the truck has a starting issue I will list some. One battery is weak,or bad connections.Next alternator is not charging to full capacity.Starter solenoid is either bad,or has dead spots not engaging the starter when starting.Could be a multitude of things like bad ground wires from fender(rhs) to subframe,to block,or bad wires, coil or ignition control module(under distributor cap).Even a worn out ignition key cylinder where the key starts the truck can wear out creating a bad,no start scenario.Hope this gives a better answer to the possibilities of a no start. However start SIMPLE check the obvious battery, alternator(even alternator belt loose) and ground wires.Advance auto and and auto zone do free charging and battery checks to help isolate a issue in this area.
Bad charging system? alternator or generator does not supply enough power to keep battery charged to operate accesories. Bad battery? can't hold charge.
