This is because fraternal twins are simply two full siblings that happen to share the womb at the same time. There is no more reason for fraternal twins to be the same than there is for any brother/sister, brother/brother or sister/sister sibling set to be the same.

In cases when fraternal twins have different phenotypes normally is because of the interaction of individual's genes and the developmental environment in the woman's uterus.

Are twin dogs hard to tell apart?

All dogs with litter mates are fraternal twins. They might look very like their litter mates or be completely different colors, etc. Any animal that is an identical twin is genetically the same as its sibling, so yes, they would be difficult to tell apart until something happens to make them different. Raised in different situations, they might develop somewhat differently.

Why do twins have identical characterisitics?

because they get the exact same phenotype and genotype the only thing that changes them is there surroundings friends they hang out with because lets say there twins and one was born in Africa and the other in America OK so there hanging out in 2 different places so there going to have different friends that do different stuff and you might get into one of the games they do. so if they live and hang with the same friends there's going to be little to no difference.

What environmental factor such as hormone that might affect organism's phenotype?

The type of environmental factor, such as the presence of a hormone, that might affect an organism's phenotype is internal

What is the difference between Cloning and Variation?

Cloning creates a copy precisely like the parent - physically and genetically identical, save for any mutations that might occur along the transcription/translation process. Body cells reproduce this way. Variable reproduction produces offspring that are different from the parent. Most animals reproduce this way.

How can organisms have the same DNA but look and act differently?

Although organisms with the same physical characteristics have the same PHENOTYPE, they might have different GENOTYPE, or genetic makeup.

What might the phenotypes be of two organisms that were found to have different genotypes but the same phenotype?

Phenotypes refer to the visible traits (or characteristics). Genotypes are the underlying causes for those traits. There may be different genotypes that cause the same phenotype. If the observable traits from one individual are the same from another individual, one can say they have the same phenotypes.

Why does some identical twins appear different from one another?

http://creationontheweb.com/content/view/5573 check this website out, and read the article Because they might be enviromentally varieted . So they might have been born identical, but as they grow up they have different diets, take different amounts of exersize, and live in different environments (pollution could affect their health).

How might cloning be harmful genetically?

Yes there is.

What are the disadvantatges of asexual reproduction?

Advantages: Only requires one Parent. Offspring are genetically identical to the parent. Disadvantages: There is no variation among offspring(they are all clones) One disease could wipe all the offspring out (as they are all clones no one might have developed resistance to the disease)

What is the ONLY genotype that can produce a recessive phenotype?

Only a homozygous recessive individual will have the phenotype created by two recessive alleles.Since the term produce might indicate the production of offspring parents that can only produce offspring with a recessive phenotype must both have homozygous recessive genotypes.

Why is it important to recognize the differences in the appearance of the chromosomes at different stages?

because you can see if that person is genetically mutated, and if you catch it early on, you might, (SLIM CHANCE.) fix the problem before it worsens.

I have some traits in common with my siblings... other traits not so much why?

Every person is different - even identical twins can be different in some way or other, even though they might look almost identical. It is not unusual for children to look similar to one or both parents, or that a collective family look is apparent. But, inside, each child is an individual - one might be stubborn, another pleasant, and another grumpy!
