In OC test , the equipments are connected in LV side since we need to get rated voltage . if it is cinnected in HV side the value of voltage will be less and current wil be more.Hence the ordinary instruments cannot measure this value of current
You always need to apply rated voltage to the primary in open circuit test (oc test helps to find iron loss which depends on the voltage applied which remains constant)so with smaller voltage applied to the low voltage side rated voltage can be achieved in primary.Further, the ammeter ,voltmeter and wattmeter connected to the primary can be of lower rating.
OC and SC tests are used for predetermining the efficiency and % voltage regulation. It is more efficient test for a transformer than sumpner's test for 2 reasons. 1. two identical transformers are readily not available 2. two separate power supplies are required for the sumpner's test, whereas OC and SC are simple and best
1)Short circuit test is performed at rated current. As the rated current on high voltage side is much less than low voltage side, so the rated high voltage side current is easily achieved compared to low voltage side. 2)Also because we cannot short circuit high voltage side, as, if we short circuit high voltage side, voltage of high voltage side essentially falls to zero and since VI=constant, so the high voltage side current will be very high and will burn the winding.
sumpners test is performed to find core losses and copper losses.here we can find effieciency and regulation by actually simulating the loading conditions.hence the results obtained by this method are more accurate than oc and sc test where loading conditions are absent.we can perform heat run test which is an advantage of sumpners test as both losses occur simultaneously
4872 seats are available in iits for oc category

Oc 80s are like a dark greenish gray with oc imprinted on one side and 80 imprinted on the other
No, they say OC on one side and whatever the mg on the other side.
It is the new oc that you can't crush or smoke.
