people gain weight when they eat less because your body thinks it is starving, your body converts your muscle into fat and it makes you feel weak and gain weight, however if you eat less for a long period of time you will lose weight

Some will gain weight, and others will lose it. Drugs have different effects on different people, and can either make you feel more hungry (gain weight) or less hungry (lose weight).
It can make it less or even make it stay away, especially if it happens quickly. Same as for weight loss.
