Good diplomatic relations between countries is positive. Europe has a history of wars and division, so working together has helped the countries involved to understand each other better and have better friendships and kept peace. There have been no wars between members, including ones that have had wars in the past. So there are many good reasons for the EU countries to work together. It is why it was set up.
