That is a complicated question... Since (and I'm not going to enumerate all the reasons) Quebec would be sustainable and could prosper by itself just like any other Canadian province, the answer depends mostly on personal values. The idea of Quebec's independence is usually about language and culture protection so the 2 main visions are those:
1) People who believe that every people and nation should have the right to self determination if they want to in order to prevent cultural tensions will answer it should.
2) People who believe we are all Humans and that the less division there is the better the world will be will answer it shouldn't.
In my opinon, Quebec should not separate from Canada. That is because the only reason they want to leave is due to their differences in language and culture from Canada. These differences are in fact very minor, and no matter what they may think; Quebec is a strong contributor to the culture and economy of Canada as a whole. However, catastrophic problems would occur if they ever did separate. These days, Quebec politicians in the House of Commons only use this as a threat to try and protect the interests of those who live in Quebec. That is because they realize the problems that would happen with separation, that Quebec benefits greatly from confederation and also that the original movements of seperaation were only caused by wild nationalist furvour and was not based on rational long term thought.
Because they are worried about preserving their French culture
Because Quebecians are cool like that
Qubec wants their independence because of their language & culture. which are both diffrent from most of canada's. -alyssa k.
i have noo clue but man i want a chocolate bar ahah =) no but seriously i dont know
True I agree with that 100%
This is because the people of Quebec want to keep their French culture and religion.
In Canada, separatists generally want to separate Quebec from confederation.
To separate themselves from the country of Canada.
no it's part of it, even if some french canadians people want to separate and be independent, our country is Canada. Quebec is just a province just like Ontario and Alberta
Don't go to this site 'cause random ppl answer it.
They speak French and the rest of Canada speaks another language so they are afraid of losing their unique culture.
"non ingérence, non indifférence" France doesn't promote the independance of quebec and help "souverainiste" but if the quebec become independent, France will be the first to recognize the new country because of the strong economics and cultural relations with the province
Your question is not clear enough. Do you mean: 1) What does Quebec want to achieve by seceding from Canada? 2) Why does Quebec want to secede from Canada? 3) What does Quebec want to take from Canada if it was to secede? Here are one sentence answers to the 3 possible questions: 1) Full independence, transferring all the branches of political power that regards Quebec from Ottawa to Quebec and protecting its cultural heritage. 2) Because it is the only French speaking province in Canada, it has a different culture, people there thing different politically and they feel that their culture is shrinking under the pressure of the English demographic pressure and that it is the best way to protect their language. 3) Quebec's actual territory.
Quebec
it is so they can separate from Canada and leave the Confederation the provinces
