Movements viewed through the microscope are exaggerated quite a bit. As such, it's best to attempt to line up the object on the slide by looking at the slide directly, rather than through the objective.
A microscope should not be focused by moving the objectives and the slide closer together because it will affect the working distance. It is the optimal distance between objective lens and the upper surface of the slide.
You should hold the arm and the base of the microscope.
If you move closer while looking thru the lens, there is a danger of cracking the slide, especially using coarse adjustment.

It should be stored with the low-power objective in place.
Scanning objective
iiddkkk :/ soorryyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A microscope should be stored in low power objective lens because the lens can scratch against the lens.
so the objective lens will not touch the slide.
Coarse Adjustment
10x
Do not allow the high power objective to tough the lenses
Do not allow the high power objective to tough the lenses
remove the slide, return the low-power objective, use lens paper to clean the stage of microscope and the lenses
The coarse objective knob when turned downward will cause the microscope lens to crush into the test slide
lowest power, i think 40x
