If the starter makes no attempt to crank the engine and you did not disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery during the clutch job, maybe the battery drained from something left on while you had the truck apart (ignition left on, doors left open, etc).
No, it is not necessary.
Yes, or you can connect a 1 amp trickle charger to the battery during storage to keep it fully charged.
To Remove: 1. Remove or disconnect the following: Transmission Quick disconnect from the slave cylinder 2. Install a clutch alignment tool. 3. What Country and Time period?? Assuming this is US during WW2, then the "HS Battery" is probably "HQ Battery". The typical Field Artillery Battalion contained three firing batteries named "Battery A", "Battery B" and "Battery C" and a smaller service battery called "Service Battery". The Commander, his staff and clerical assistants were part of the "Headquarters Battery" or "HQ Battery". If your question relates to a different country or period, then the HQ Battery and Service Battery may be combined and called "H&S Battery" but I'm not sure of that.
If you are referring to the Malfunction Indicator Light (yellow engine shaped light) the simplest way is to disconnect the negative battery post for 20 minutes or so. If the light comes on again during vehicle operation then the cause of the fault has not been corrected.
disconnect battery. from underneath disconnect solenoid wire and battery cable from starter solenoid. remove starter motor bolts. remove starter motor. installation is the reverse but be sure to place the starter shim between the starter motor and the engine or you will get noise during starts.
Once you disconnect the battery ground for a few minutes the computer will reset. The car will run rough for a few minutes during start-up while it re-learns its parameters; then it will be be fine as long as there are no other trouble codes in the system.
A clutch wrench is a mechanical tool used to hold a clutch in place during installation. This holds the clutch still and does not allow it to move.
Because if that battery should run out of power during the installation, you will have to start over from scratch.
you don't want the battery to fail you part way through the process.
