If the starter makes no attempt to crank the engine and you did not disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery during the clutch job, maybe the battery drained from something left on while you had the truck apart (ignition left on, doors left open, etc).
The clutch bearing for an AC compressor is located in the center of the clutch. If the bearing goes bad, then the clutch is replaced as a whole part rather than changing the bearing.
I replaced my clutch for about 114.00 but i get a discount. list price is probably around 150 or 175 for oem clutch kit.
The short answer is about a full day. Clutch replacement of an MGB, Roadster or GT entails the removal of the engine/transmission assembly from the car, then separating the two to access the clutch. There is no practical way to get to the clutch any other way, as the transmission cannot be removed with the engine in place.
did you hone the cylinder before you replaced the parts
check the fan clutch
Remove the entire dash and steering colum
the return spring on the clutch pedal assembly must be replaced.
bad clutch, bad pressure plate, throw out bearing, air in the hydraulic lines...etc
Yes, in most cases. You will need the proper puller to remove and replace the clutch assembly.
If the clutch was not disengaging I would say the clutch master is empty of hydraulic fluid, this would be a result of a leak in the master or the slave cylinder. If the clutch is not engaging I would suspect the clutch disc has shredded in which case the clucth assembly would have to be replaced.
Same thing happened to my sons car. Replaced the clutch and it now works fine.
after the clutch master cylinder has been replaced.
You CAN"T. If you are having clutch problems then it is time for aNEW clutch kit and clutch slave cylinder too. NO ADJUSTMENT
Clutch cover
The clutch fan on a 2004 Chevy Silverado is removed by loosening the alternator bracket and pulling the drive belt. The fan's retaining bolts can then be removed and pulled from the engine.
There is no adjustment on that year. You either have a worn out clutch disc or a bad clutch slave cylinder. Could be a bad clutch master cylinder too.
Clutch is either misadjusted or needs to be replaced.
