Why they sent gagarin into space?

Yuri Gagarin was sent into space as part of a propaganda plot by the Soviet Union to send the first human into space. At the time of his flight, Gagarin, who was only 27 years old, and while extremely smart, lacked the piloting experience of NASA's Mercury astronauts. Gagarin spent 6 months training for his mission, while the Mercury astronauts spent 2 years. The Mercury astronauts piloted their spacecraft while Gagarin was little more than a passenger in space, unable to control or manipulate the spacecraft in any way. The Soviets were great at grabbing the headlines, even if it meant risking the lives of those inside the spacecraft.

Why might a spacecraft get too cold?

Because the average temperature in space is just 2.73 degrees above absolute zero in the Kelvin scale. After their oxygen tank exploded, the Apollo 13 astronauts were forced to shut down their spacecraft to conserve battery power necessary for re-entry. Following the shutdown, the temperature in the spacecraft dipped to near freezing temperatures. The only reason it didn't freeze was because they were heated by the sun for most of their journey. When astronauts went to the moon, they put their spacecraft in what was known as a barbeque roll to even out the temperatures both inside the spacecraft and back in the Service Module where their oxygen and fuel tanks were. Had they not done that, half of their spacecraft would have been frozen while the other half overheated.

Why do astronauts seem to fly inside their spacecraft?

because of unavailability of gravity.

Can you fly while you are in a space shuttle in space?

You may have seen photos or videos of astronauts who appear to be floating through the air while in space. They aren't flying, nor are they really floating, they are falling. Any orbiting spacecraft (such as the space shuttle or international space station) is actually falling around the Earth in a circular pattern. They have achieved enough speed (over 17,000 mph) to continue moving around the Earth without the Earth's gravity pulling the spacecraft down. Astronauts aboard those spacecraft are moving inside the spacecraft and falling along with them at the same speed giving the appearance that they flying or floating inside.

Why do astronauts seen to fly inside their spacecraft?

They are in a state of weightlessness caused be the distance from earth. This is because of one of 2 reasons. If the space craft is in a orbit around the planet, the weightlessness is caused by a constant falling towards the planet, but always misses the ground (you can get the same effect if you are inside an airplane dropping towards earth with more the 9.82m/s). If the spacecraft have left the earth gravity alltogether, there are simply no force pulling the astronauts downwards, making them seem to float. Gravity is caused by the fact that materia bend the time/space field in a way that matter is drawn towards one another. You need a very big mass for this affect to be noticeable though, like for example, the mass of Earth on a person.

What do astronauts need to breathe?

Astronauts need a full enclosed location (e.g. spacecraft, spacesuit, etc). As long as it's airtight, and there's a breathable atmosphere inside what they are in, they'll be fine.

What do astronauts do in space for fun?

they do bubble up their drinking water in the weightlessness of space, within the shuttle, but they keep close watch that it wont go elsewhere that would render risk to their machine. They do exercise on their treadmill

Is it possible to shower in space?

No because 1st of all the water would freeze and 2nd of all it would maybe float of!! so Its not likely!!!-Andrew Quinteros In weightlessness, the water would float around, but if it's inside the spacecraft it wouldn't freeze. If it did that would mean that the temperature would be 0 degrees Celsius and the astronauts would freeze as well :)In fact a shower was included on board Skylab, which had 3 crews carrying out missions in the early 1970s. The shower curtain was a flexible cylinder which was pulled up from the "floor" and latched at the "ceiling" with the astronaut inside. The water was sprayed inside and sucked out at the bottom. However this was not built into the ISS, and the astronauts there use wet flannels.

What is done to protect the astronauts inside the spacecraft?

The spacecraft in which astronuts live are made with such heavy metal and extra protection and air-tight so that they can live long in that. it has unbreakable windows and hard alluminium {alloy of copper, alluminium ,iron] body to protect them from small space particles.
