How do I replace the dash panel lights on a 2001 toyota sequoia?
I located the instrument panel illumination lights on my 1990 Nissan D21 Pick-up by removing the clear plastic panel that protects the gauges and pulling the instrument panel forward. To do this, screws must be removed from the dash panel located around the instrument panel. There are also screws securing the clock adjustment knob and the glass/instrument panel itself. The bulbs twist into the backside of the instrument panel. There are several of them. If none of the lights dim (including dash lights, speedo, etc) the dimmer switch is probably bad.
All the lights a flashing on the instrument panel on my Chrysler town and country minivan. Why?
Panel lights on all vehicles are tied into the tail light wiring of the vehicle. That way if your panel lights go out you know that both tail lights are out. Check the bulbs of your cars tail lights and see if they are burned out.
All of the lights are turned on and off by the rotating part of the turn signal lever. The fogg lights are tuned on by the bottem left switch on the center panel left row. All lights for night driving is automatic if the rotating end of the turn signal is turned clock wise until it stops. If the switch is turned one stop counter clockwise it turns on the head lights. A buzzer will sound if you turn off the car and open the door without turning switch back to auto position or turning the switch counter clock wise until it stops at the off position.
The instrument panel lights are controlled by the same fuse as the tail lights which is a 15 amp fuse located in the panel in the engine compartment adjacent to the battery. The fuse is only labeled for the tail lights.
I had this problem with my Monte Carlo, I think it was that I needed a new turn signal switch. I think there was a sensor or something that was broke too?? But I believe the dash panel lights not working at night had something to do with a short in the turn signal switch.
