You may have a cracked head or bad head gasket. The car will start to overheat from lack of coolant if you don't check the radiator coolant and refill it, if it's low. You need to get the car repaired or replaced before it breaks down and leaves you stranded .
is there a sweet smell? Does the coolant level drop in the overflow tank and/or the radiator? if so, you might be looking at a bad head gasket. if there is slight white smoke(usually condensation) and no loss of coolant, then it is normal. once the engine (and exhaust system) gets hot, there should be no more smoke.
If there is no overheating or loss of coolant, most likely it is due to condensation in the exhaust system (pretty normal in cool or rainy weather).

If the smoke is coming from the exhaust then it's coolant. If its not turning over then it could be hydrolocked from a coolant leak.

White smoke out of the exhaust means that there is coolant getting into the combustion chamber. Usually due to a bad head gasket.
Black smoke is overly rich fuel/air mixture. Blue smoke is oil burning. White smoke is coolant in the combustion chamber. I have never seen green smoke coming from an auto exhaust. The only thing I would suspect is that this is coolant in the combustion chamber caused by a blown head gasket. If it smells sweet and you are loosing coolant with no apparent leak, then you have a blown head gasket or cracked head.
