Agriculture was important in the USSR as the government needed that part of the economy to produce enough food to not only feed farm workers but to also feed industrial workers in the cities. When collectivism failed in the 1960's, the USSR was forced to buy grain from the United States.

When it failed in the 1930's it created massive starvation.

How is the end of the Korean war related to the cold war?

Cold War is when US and USSR is fighting on the economic functions (capitalism, communism). Korean War started because USSR wanted to spread Communism to the Pacific. Why? USSR was a group of Communist countries and same with US (they had NATO, USSR had something called Warsaw Union) so the more members, the bigger they become. When China and Northern Korea (North didn't exist yet officially) attacked south, US and UN stopped them from conquering the peninsula. So the Korean War is started, and is, officially, going (although the armistice was signed, it didn't end)

What day did communism end in Russia?

Well, it depends on what exactly you mean by that. The USSR ceased to exist in December of 1991. Though the Communist party of the USSR was disbanded at the same time, later (in 1993) the Communist Party of Russian Federation was instituted, and currently it is the second largest party in Russia. So in some sense communism never left Russia.

Why were the soviet agents working so hard to spread communism around the world?

The point of Marxist Communism is to "spread the revolution". One of the most striking differences between Communism and Socialism is that Socialism calls for reform, but Communism calls for revolution.

The Berlin Wall was the border between the half of Germany controlled by the USSR and the half controlled by the other Allies at the end of World War 2. When did the U.S.S.R. use communism?

Well after world war 2, the USSR which was part of the allies started trying to form an "Iron Curtain". Stalin felt that communism (ussr) couldn't excist if there was democracy. So he forced through false election a lot of countrys surrounding USSR into communism as a barrair so he could feel safe. Eventually the US tryied to stop the spread of communism in Korea, which then broke out into a huge war, breaking up Korea into north and south Korea, if I remember correctly South Korea was helped by the US while North Korea was helped by the USSR. Through rising tensions between the two countrys the cold war emerged between these two super powers. The USSR wanted to turn the world to the way of the communist, while the US where trying to convert them into democracy, this broke out into many threats like the Cuban Missile Crises where tension was so strong that either of the super powers would have had atomic bombs sent at the drop of a dime, and they would have if there wasnt so much fear against the US and its allies, and the Soviets and their allies. USSR was mainly communist between 1922-1991.
