the crown colony was always there like a govenment is always there to make laws, maintain the country etc...the crown colony was a body which made laws and even came about with the idea of proprietory system .. example: for st kitts was in the guy named WARNER hands and he had to ask the crown to go and populate and maintain this country ..so as you can see the crown is like the main 'boss.'

To stop this the Crown had to regain control of The Bahamas. The Crown purchased the islands from the Proprietors and set up their own form of government to try and stop the pirates. The form of government set up by the Crown was called Crown Colony Government. In 1718 the Crown sent their first Royal Governor to The Bahamas Captain Woodes Rogers.
