Unless they rigged something up, the flag would just hang there. So they built a special flagpole expressly for the purpose of making the flag appear to fly. The astronauts would be wearing bulky space suits, so they needed a flagpole that was easy to assemble and to plant in the ground. Plus, the pole had to be portable, and not use up a lot of precious cargo space. So scientists rigged a telescoping pole with a telescoping horizontal crossbar that was supposed to make the flag look as if it were blowing in the wind. The flag itself was standard issue, although the top was hemmed so that the astronauts would be able to slide it over the crossbar. And the entire assembly weighed less than ten pounds. Even so, the astronauts reported having some trouble setting the flag up. They weren't able to stick the pole far enough into the ground, and they weren't able to fully extend the horizontal crossbar. And that explains the rippling effect.

The Kansas barbed wire museum has over 2000 different types of barbed wire on display and barbed wire collecting is a popular hobby.
who invented electric wire
Barbed Wire Soul was created in 1997.
Bouquet of Barbed Wire was created in 1976.
The fabric of the flag has a wire mesh sewn into it. The flag rolls up into a nice little package. When on the Moon, the astronauts extend the pole and stick it into the ground. They can then unroll the flag.

It doesn't 'wave'. It's suspended from the flag pole from a piece of horizontal wire attached to the top of the flag pole at a right angle.
Yes, but only if the magnet or the wire are kept moving.
I call it the flag terminal - Its where 12v goes into the starter when you hit your start button
Apollo 1 resulted in three astronauts's deaths .When the three astronauts came in the space craft the pressure in the cabin was 16 PSI {pounds of pressure per square inch} and the outside pressure was 14 PSI.And ,unfortunately the astronauts had an inward opening hatch which didn't have a handlers was used to keep water out of the module when it splashed down.An electrical problem happened and at 16 PSI every thing burns aluminum wire sealing control pads ...... The astronauts were doomed.
Although there is gravity on the Moon, the flag had wire strips in it to stop it falling down. This also allowed the flag to look like it was "waving". The Apollo 11 mission flag fell over due to the exhaust blast of the returning flight.
The Apollo 1 spacecraft was destroyed in a major fire on the launch pad, the three astronauts were killed. It started because of a short in the wire.
Yes they will eat the lower new leaves and ones higher up too if they can get at them. They will also have a chew at the bark and if left to their own devices will ruin a newly planted hedge. Hares will decimate a newly planted hedge. They chop off the stems and strip the bark. If either beasts are attracted to a newly planted hedge fence it with chicken wire--both sides.
YES, without a doubt, American astronauts landed on the moon. The things that some people are not educated enough to understand, are confusing them. Yes, the flag was held up by a bent wire, so that it would look as though it was waving. But footage shows it being rock-still except when the astronauts are moving it or the flagpole around- or have just done so and it is still settling down. One piece of footage shows an astronaut brushing past the flag, which swings the front edge like a pendulum- it does not billow, as there is no air for it to catch. The most popular moon pics are the ones that turned out well, so some think the fact that so many moon pics look good, is suspicious. Look up on the Net- there are sites out there that show *all* the lunar pics, and many are duds. The astronauts landed on the Moon during daylight, but while the Sun was still low and it hadn't heated up. And there are those who think it is suspicious that pictures taken in *broad daylight* have no stars in them! Sites like clavius.org or the badastronomy site will help you understand what the less educated don't.
To strip wire, you can use a wire stripper tool by adjusting it to the appropriate gauge of the wire, then placing the wire inside the tool and squeezing the handles to cut through the insulation. Another method is to use a utility knife to carefully cut around the insulation and then pull it off. Always be careful not to cut into the actual wire while stripping.
Where the wire is held in the holder you will see a small round hole. Insert a small nail into it and push inward. This will release the spring that holds the wire. Pull on the wire and it will come out. Now you can release the pressure on the small nail to let the internal spring return to its original position.
