The Holy Land is Israel. To be technical it would include all of the land that God gave Abraham (Genesis 15:18), "On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram (Later changed to Abraham), saying "To your descendants I have given this great land, from the river of Egypt to the great River Euphrates__".

ANSWER: Thank you, I enjoyed your input. I answered this question in the "Christianity" section of "Religion and Spiritually" Christians believe that Abraham's descendants that inherit the land came through the "chosen" seed of Abraham. That seed was Isaac and not Ishmael, from Issac the covenant passed to Jacob and not Esau, and from there to the nation of Israel through the 12 sons of Jacob, which became the 12 tribes.
I know there is a lot of disquiet in the Middle East at this time and we do not have all the answers, but God will sort them out.
I am not a polytheist. I believe in one God, Yahweh, but in three Persons.
God the Father, and God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. All three are one God.
Well depending on your beliefs, many cities and or nations could apply. In the Christian Catholic Religion, the Vatican city and Israel could be acceptable answers. For Muslims, Saudi Arabia would likely be the answer as it contains sacred cities pertinent to there religious beliefs. Jews would likely pick Israel, as it is there homeland and of large importance in the Torah and Old Testament.
Perhaps the most common answers you will get is Israel, specifically Jerusalem, as it has been revered by Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike, making it a melting pot of culture and, unfortunately, occasionally a battle ground, as Israel has been at odds with it's Muslim neighbors due to the nature of the nation's creation. The United Nations gave this land to Judaism as compensation for the Holocaust, but the land used to be under Muslim rule, which has caused conflicting feelings in this area of the world. I hope this helps
It is where everybody goes and worships, also where Jesus went there.
God guided the Jews to the holy land , under both Moses and Joshua.

Sikhs have no holy land nor there is any holy place or holy time. Sikhism as a religion believes that the remembrance of God makes places and time holy rather than having any particular holy place or land. Hence, the only way to enter is to remember God anytime, any place. As for Sikhs place of worship (Gurudwara), Sikhs leave their shoes outside the room where their Holy Scripture is present.

I think the holy land was important because the people in medieval times cared deeply about their religion and the holy land was a place where they could praise and show their love for God or the god they "worshiped".
