Yes, smoke grenades, marking rounds, rockets, and various forms of flame weapons were used in Vietnam (along with CS gas). But officially the US did not deploy chemical warfare in Vietnam. During the Viet era; US doctrine was:
1. Never to deploy biological weapons
2. Use chemical warfare only in self defense (meaning the other nation had to use it first)
3. Reserved the right of first strike with nuclear weapons
Because they were designed, and built right, and built for a purpose.

The herbicide that was used during the Vietnam War was Agent Orange, which contains a deadly chemical called dioxin.
A full range of riverine vessels including the Swift Boat. The M-16 rifle.
The exact same types which were in use throughout the entire Vietnam War. With the exception of some weaponry left over from the French colonial era, most weapons and weapons used by the Republic of Vietnam were US-sourced. As for which weapons, you could narrow it down by limiting it to certain types - weapons range from small arms to armoured vehicles to artillery pieces to aircraft and the munitions they drop, and a complete list would be much too long to feasibly post on here.
Officially not used.
Nuclear weapons were not used during the Vietnam war
By treaty, during the 20th century, chemical/biological weapons were banned (Restricted); During the Vietnam War, the US reserved the right of "First Strike" with nuclear weapons; the US reserved the right to retaliate with chemical weapons; the US would NOT use biological weapons. Other than Agent Orange, and some other possible experimental chemicals; CS gas was the most common chemical weapon used. And there was even raised eyebrows when GI's used that ordnance. The biggest problem facing US Forces in Vietnam, was we didn't want the communists to "Up the Ante." If we used CS gas, then they might say, "well it wasn't really CS, it was some other illegal chemical weapon, so we're gonna use ...this on you...". And the Soviets (Russians) had plenty of chemical weapons to distribute to their North Vietnamese ally.
Nuclear weapons, Biological Weapons, Chemical Weapons.
Fear that the North Vietnamese would obtain nuclear weapons themselves (from Russia or China) and use them on South Vietnam or even on America.
The US first stockpiled chemical weapons during the 1930s.
Agent Orange was the toxic, leaf-killing chemical sprayed over Vietnam.
Effective? The North Vietnamese were the most determined. Effective? The United States had the most firepower.
Because they were designed, and built right, and built for a purpose.
