455,000 Italians died during World War 2 this includes 154,000 Recorded Civilian Deaths and 301,000 Military Deaths. Along with this 10,000 African Conscripts were also killed during World War 2.
During WW1 the Italian army was big and well off. It made small advancements in Europe and even lost land. The Italians were angry with there corrupt leaders and wanted order.

Prior to the First World War, the Italians had been supportive of the Austro-Hungarian and German Empires. They delayed participation in the war for a year. When they finally became involved on April 26, 1915, it was on the opposing side, with the Triple Entente of Britain, France, and Russia.Again with the Second World War, the Italians delayed participation for a year. They became involved on June 10, 1940. This time, they supported Nazi Germany.
